The keys to wellbeing and how to train without leaving home
The hectic pace of daily life consumes us, often undermining our personal wellbeing. Combining work, household chores, sport, leisure, looking after our personal relationships, as well as our diet and rest, becomes an almost impossible Tetris to fit together. An exercise routine, mindful eating and a good rest to keep your physical and mental balance are key; a mantra that Crys Dyaz, personal trainer, physiotherapist and former swimmer, shared at an event held at Be Casa.
True to its values and following its philosophy, regardless of the length and reason of the stay (work, holidays or rental), Be Casa offers the privacy of a home with the services and comforts of a hotel and countless shared areas and sports facilities such as a gym, pool or padel courts, among others, that allow its residents to stay active and healthy without leaving home.
As Crys Dyaz states, “sport makes us feel happier. Dopamine goes up, cortisol goes down, the hormones that give us a sense of discomfort are pushed aside and we bring in the ones that provide happiness and wellbeing. Being happy with yourself makes you happier with your surroundings, more efficient at work and helps you interact better, have more energy and more drive.” That said, she stresses that “sport is sustainable as long as we know how to adapt it on a sliding scale, to our needs each day”. The same goes for nutrition: “We shouldn’t think too much about food, but rather about how we nourish each of our cells and how that will consequently have a direct impact on our body, mind and energy; but we also have to allow ourselves treats”. She also stressed the importance of rest, sleeping well and regulating our stress levels, a pending task for the society we live in. Where we focus least on improving is on sleeping 8 hours and regulating stress levels, on dedicating time to ourselves.
Following these healthy habit guidelines, the personal trainer shared a full body training programme with no equipment, divided into three phases, that we can all do from home by investing just 45/50 minutes in our health:
Be Casa cares about the wellbeing and health of its residents, which is why all its buildings have gyms equipped with machines and gear for training. Be Casa Valdebebas and Be Casa San Sebastián de los Reyes have padel courts to play sport, and Be Casa Rivas has a calisthenics gym for those who like to train outdoors. In addition, through the loyalty programme, residents are invited every month to different activities such as talks, training sessions and healthy meals, providing benefits and support in the ongoing pursuit of a balanced life.
