Be Casa and the exhibition ‘Gianni Versace Reflections’
Be Casa, with its steadfast commitment to culture, has joined forces with the National Museum of Decorative Arts, a state institution under Spain’s Ministry of Culture, to support its new exhibition ‘Gianni Versace Reflections’; a deep dive into the brand’s DNA through Decorative Arts that you can enjoy until 6 October.
“One of our top priorities is to promote culture. At Be Casa we care about the wellbeing of our residents whatever the length of their stay, offering them the warmth of a home while also placing special focus on their personal enrichment through different cultural activities and making it easy to connect with other people. Supporting the National Museum of Decorative Arts with this exhibition is a source of pride for us, another small contribution to boosting the cultural power of Madrid for locals and for those who visit from other parts of Spain or from abroad, whether for work, leisure or residential reasons,” says Marino Laso, Senior Marketing at Greystar.
And indeed, 27 years after the death of the Italian fashion designer, the Madrid institution pays tribute to Gianni Versace, with the support of Be Casa, through five sections that present an analysis of the early years of the Italian designer’s haute couture line, which laid the foundations for what would later be known as the “Versace style”. Nearly twenty of the Italian’s most iconic designs fill the museum’s halls; designs that mingle with those of other creators such as Karl Lagerfeld, Valentino, Yves Saint Laurent and Hubert de Givenchy, so you can understand the context in which the Calabrian designer’s work developed. What’s more, his creations strike up a dialogue with other pieces in the museum to find the very seeds of the creator’s inspiration. To bring this journey through Versace’s inspirations to life, visitors can enjoy some of his most iconic pieces, such as the Red and Blue Chair by Gerrit Rietveld, alongside lesser-known works, like a Chinese ceremonial headdress rarely shown since it arrived in Spain in the 18th century. So, in this exhibition you’ll not only discover the universe of a designer who defined an era, but you’ll also take a journey through the history of Decorative Arts and design, enjoying the collections of an institution of international standing.
Be Casa’s commitment to culture is part of its Social Responsibility policy, which also actively contributes in the areas of sustainability, sport and health. True to its belief that living consciously will make the world a better place, Be Casa fosters an understanding of the needs and situations of the people who form part of it, as well as of the planet we live on, considering it a duty to care for the world around us. That’s why all its spaces are eco-friendly and hold the BREEAM certification. It also supports local organisations, encouraging health and sport from an early age by sponsoring Rivas Club Hockey and the youth academy of Unión Deportiva San Sebastián de los Reyes.
