Nature:
Laguna del Campillo: it’s considered a Nature Reserve and an Ecologically Sensitive Area, which is why its conservation has been promoted, smoothing the slopes, shaping shorelines, building islets and bird observation stations, etc. You can explore the routes by bike or on foot, and guided tours are also offered. The most interesting things are observing the flora, the botanical areas along the route, and also the variety of birds, especially raptors and ducks.
Religion:
Milestone of the Uclés Way: it’s a Christian pilgrimage route that, although it doesn’t belong to the Camino de Santiago, is related to this apostle, since it begins at the Church of Santiago in Madrid, just like the Madrid Camino de Santiago, and ends in the province of Cuenca, at the Monastery of Santiago de Uclés, which was built by the Order of Santiago and was the Order’s central house.
Sport:
Route on Cerro de la Marañosa: the route is 6 kilometres in total, very easy, and follows a very accessible dirt track ideal for exploring on foot or by bike. You’ll find wetlands, bunkers and small forts dating back to the time when the Battle of Jarama took place during the Spanish Civil War.

H2O Shopping Centre: a 50,000 m2 leisure centre where you’ll find a really diverse selection of restaurants, clothing stores and cinemas. Plus, its architecture and lake make this shopping centre even more striking for both big and small.
It’s located just 10 minutes’ walk from Be Casa Rivas, definitely a really interesting entertainment option in the Madrid region.
Gastronomy:
La Lumbre: many call the restaurant La Lumbre the best in Rivas. It serves signature cuisine specialising in Mediterranean grill. If you want to try the best of the Mediterranean with creative touches, you’ll love this restaurant. The average per person is around 25€, and there are also vegan and vegetarian options on the menu.
It’s located just 4 minutes by car from Be Casa Rivas, and it’s open every day, including weekends.
