Whether from Spain or abroad, you mustn’t miss the opportunity to discover all that Rivas has to offer.

Rivas-Vaciamadrid, 15 km from Madrid, with 95,000 inhabitants, and surrounded by the Southeast Regional Park, is the perfect place to unwind. It also provides a wide range of leisure activities and services.

Rivas has something for everyone; discover the best places to visit to suit your interests:

Nature:

Laguna del Campillo: It is considered a Nature Reserve and an Ecologically Sensitive Area; therefore, its preservation has been promoted by smoothing the slopes, forming coastlines, building islets and birdwatching stations, etc. The routes can be covered by bicycle or on foot, and guided tours are also available. The most interesting features include the flora, botanical areas along the way, and also the variety of birds, especially birds of prey and ducks.

Religion:

Stage of the Uclés Route: A Christian pilgrimage route which, although it is not part of the Way of St. James, is related to this apostle, as it begins at the Church of St. James in Madrid, like the Way of St. James in Madrid, and ends in the province of Cuenca, in the Monastery of St. James of Uclés, which was built by the Order of St. James and was the headquarters of the Order.

Sport:

Route on Marañosa hill: The route is 6 kilometres long and quite easy. It runs along an accessible dirt track that is ideal for walking or cycling. You will see wetlands, as well as bunkers and forts that date back to the Battle of Jarama during the Spanish Civil War.

Leisure:

H2O Shopping Centre: A 50,000 m2 leisure centre where you will find a wide range of restaurants, clothes shops and cinemas. In addition, its architecture and lake make this shopping centre even more attractive for young and old alike.

It is just a 10-minute walk from Be Casa Rivas, definitely an exciting leisure option in the community of Madrid.

Gastronomy:

La Lumbre: Many consider La Lumbre the best restaurant in Rivas. It serves signature cuisine, specialising in Mediterranean-style grilled food. You will love this restaurant if you want to try the best of the Mediterranean with creative twists. The average price per person is about €25, and vegan and vegetarian options are also available on the menu.

It is only a 4-minute drive from Be Casa Rivas and opens every day, including weekends.

Culture:

Museum of Anthropology: This museum is located in one of the oldest estates in Rivas. It has been a museum since 1975 and has a main hall with pre-Columbian ceramics recovered and obtained from Ometepe and local coastal areas. It also has skeletal remains of mammoths which were found in the vicinity of Lake Corsibok. Another room exhibits paintings depicting the most emblematic legends of the region.
